Postdoctoral Timeline

The typical six-semester (two-year) timeline for a Postdoctoral fellow will alternate between the University of Guelph (or partnering institution) and the Left offices in Maple Ridge, British Columbia. Generally, this means:

  • Two months in Guelph or with the partnering institution conducting a literature review to be submitted for peer review,
  • Four months with Left [Internship 1 and 2] conducting research, drafting both grant and ethics applications as necessary, and submitting abstracts for relevant national or international conferences,
  • Four months in Guelph drafting and submitting papers related to the internships for peer review,
  • Four months with Left [Internship 3 and 4] conducting research, drafting both grant and ethics applications as necessary, and submitting abstracts for relevant national or international conferences,
  • Four months in Guelph drafting and submitting papers related to the internships for peer review,
  • Four months with Left [Internship 5 and 6] conducting research, drafting both grant and ethics applications as necessary, and submitting abstracts for relevant national or international conferences,
  • Two months in Guelph drafting and submitting papers related to the internships for peer review.
